Get Out: 'Hatchetman,' Pickling and Live Music

This weekend, take some time to relax and enjoy great food and live music at Wegmans or Cedar Hollow Inn, or learn valuable pickling skills at the Longview Center for Agriculture. Theater-lovers have a chance to catch "Hatchetman" at People’s Light and Theatre Company, and those who prefer to unwind outdoors can catch a movie under the stars at Burke Park.

• Why Go:  People’s Light and Theatre Company is a professional Chester County theater known for putting on entertaining performances from various genres. TGIF at Wegmans 

• Where/When: Malvern Wegmans, 50 Foundry Way, on Friday, June 24 from 6 to 8 p.m.
• Why Go: Every Friday, Wegmans offers live music and a delicious cafe menu selections including pizza, subs, wokery, and burritos. This week’s musician is Clay McElwee, a entertainer, producer and guitar instructor from Thorndale.

• Why Go:  Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy a family-friendly movie night under the stars at one of Malvern’s local parks. This weekend's selection is "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory."

• Where/When: Longview Center for Agriculture, 3215 Stump Hall Road, Collegeville, June 25, 10:00am - 12:00pm.
• Why Go:  Green Partners is a nonprofit organization that encourages fresh, locally-grown food. In this Green Partners workshop, staff members will teach participants brine pickling basics. Join in on the fun, and take a jar of freshly-made ferments home.

• Why Go:  Cedar Hollow Inn has a late-night menu and features live music every weekend. This week’s entertainment will be provided by Bad Habit, a lively band from Bridgeport composed of lifelong musicians who specialize in classic rock and blues.
