Get Out: Rare Cars, Music and History

This weekend, the Historical Society of Phoenixville has put together a Military Timeline show, and the Tredyffrin Library is hosting the first lecture of a four-part Civil War series. Eager to spend some time outdoors? Kennett Square is celebrating the annual Mushroom Festival, and there is a Family Arts Festival at the Main Line Arts Center as well. In Willistown, Radnor Hunt will host an array of rare and elite automobiles.

• Why Go: The annual event includes rare automobiles and motorcycles, include Stutz, Jaguar and Ducati. More information on the event website.

• Where/When: Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area, 204 Church Street, Phoenixville, September 10, 10:00am - 3:00pm.
• Why Go: Military Timeline is a living history program that features military re-enactors and covers the time period from the Revolutionary War to the modern era. Guests will learn about uniforms, equipment, and weapons from various historical periods. Visit the Historical Society website for more information about the event.

Kennett Square Mushroom Festival 

• Where/When: N Union Street & W State Street, Kennett Square, September 9 - September 11.
• Why Go: The Kennett Square Mushroom Festival is an annual event that features vendors, live music, children’s entertainment, and more. Come celebrate Kennett’s number one cash crop, rain or shine. For more information on hours and entertainment, visit the Mushroom Festival website.

Fall Lecture Series: Why Did the South Start the Civil War? 

• Where/When: , September 10, 1:00pm - 3:00pm.
• Why Go: The Civil War Sesquicentennial Series is a four-part lecture sequence designed to shed light on unique aspects of the American Civil War. In the first lecture of this year’s series, Dr. Allen Guelzo will discuss the circumstances and beliefs that led to the outbreak of the war.

• Why Go: Cedar Hollow Inn offers a late-night menu and drink specials, offer a 18oz Prime Rib Special on Saturdays. This week's performer, J.D.
