Grab & Go Planner: 'WIlly Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' Under the Stars

Looking for some fun and family-friendly events to participate in?  This week, take the kids to one of the three educational Malvern Library programs to learn more about wildlife or music, or to make crafts.  If you happened to miss out on A Day Out with Thomas last week, no worries: this great Strasburg Railroad activity is keeping kids entertained through June 26th!

• Where/When: , June 23, 11am - noon and 1 - 2pm.
• Why Go:  Children enjoy fun and interactive craft-making with their peers for free.  The Library will be holding two sessions: the first one is for children grades 1-2, and the second one is for children grades 3-5.
• Price: Free. 

• Where/When: , June 28, 1:30 pm.
• Why Go:  The Elmwood Zoo on Wheels educational program features three animals and touchable artifacts for the kids grades K-5 to enjoy. The Zoo staff will also teach the kids about wildlife and their habitat. Visit the Elmwood Park Zoo webpage to learn more.

Day Out with Thomas on the Strasburg Railroad

• Where/When: Rt. 741 East, Strasburg, Lancaster County, June 18-26.  Check complete train schedule here.
• Why Go:  Families and children of all ages enjoy a fun ride on a full-sized steam locomotive through the Pennsylvania countryside. Thomas the Tank Engine is a classic children’s storybook character, and the ride is sure to be packed with exciting activities for the whole family to enjoy. Thomas merchandise will be available as well.
• Price: $18, $25.50 for combo tickets.

• Why Go:  Makin’ Music is an interactive music and movement enrichment program designed for children. Come join in on the fun with this Malvern Library special for pre-K children. For more information, visit the Makin' Music website.
