Great Valley Elementary Schools Among PA's Best: Niche

MALVERN, PA – Main Line schools are no stranger to accolades, as many often are lauded as the best in the state and in the county. Great Valley School District's two elementary schools made the top 100 in Niche.com list of Pennsylvania's best elementary schools, but the ranks put them on opposite ends of the scale.
According to Niche, Kathryn D. Markley Elementary School is the state's 25th best public elementary school.
While Markley earned a top 25 rank, Charlestown Elementary did not fare as well: Niche ranked Charlestown as PA's 83rd best.

Despite the apparent chasm in their rank numbers, both schools earned an "A+" grad from Nice, which is based on "rigorous analysis" of key statistics from the U.S. Department of Education, as well as reviews from students and parents, the website said.
Niche said Markley was the 235th best in the country, while Charlestown is the 955th best.

Eighteen Main Line-area elementary schools made the best 100 in Pennsylvania, with many ranked toward the top, according to Niche. Ithan Elementary School in the Radnor Township School District was ranked PA's best school.

Ranking factors include state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, grade school ratings, and the overall quality of the school district.
