Great Valley Schedules Parent Talk on Drug Abuse

Drug abuse and addiction among teens is a serious problem that parents cannot ignore anymore, according to the Chester County chapter of Narcotics Overdose Prevention Education (N.O.P.E.). That is why representatives from N.O.P.E. are hosting an information session at Great Valley High School in Malvern Oct. 8 at7 p.m. in the school auditorium.

Information from N.O.P.E. says that one in five teens has abused prescription drugs, considered by drug enforcement experts to be the gateway to the abuse of heroin. In 2013, 24 people in Chester County have died from a heroin overdose.

Next Wednesday’s forum is free and open to the public.
