Immaculata President Named A 'Woman On The Move'

MALVERN, PA — A Main Line university president was recently featured on a list celebrating women who make big impacts in the area.

Immaculata University President Barbara Lettiere was named one of the “20 Women on the Move” as featured in the October issue of Main Line Today Magazine.

Nominations for the 2019 Women on the Move were submitted by the public and the staff of Main Line Today.

The finalists were then selected via a rigorous editorial process.

Lettiere, who is the first lay president of Immaculata University, began her tenure in July 2017.

In the past two years, enrollment has increased, a student center and athletic track were built, new partnership agreements have been signed, and a new invigoration has enveloped the campus.

“I am humbled to be among the other accomplished women recognized by Main Line Today as 20 Women on the Move. I have the privilege of representing the faculty, staff and deserving students of Immaculata, who are all dedicated to moving our University forward. With our centennial approaching, it is a great time to be guiding Immaculata toward its next 100 years,” states Lettiere.

Prior to taking the helm at Immaculata, Lettiere served as vice president for finance and administration at Trinity Washington University for 15 years.

She spent most of the early years of her professional career at Bell Atlantic Corporation holding various positions within the operations, marketing and finance sectors.

In 1992, she became vice president/treasurer at Bell Atlantic before assuming the presidency of Bell Atlantic Federal Systems for five years where she helped secure the largest government contract ever awarded to Bell Atlantic.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Immaculata, Lettiere continued her education earning a Master of Arts in economics and statistics from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA in decision sciences and finance from Rider University. She is also a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers.
