Malvern Attorney Gets 11 To 35 Years For Defrauding Clients
She wrote large checks to herself from four former clients without their permission, according to authorities.
MALVERN, PA — An attorney who operated an office in Malvern and was convicted of defrauding clients of tens of thousands of dollars has been handed a significant prison sentence.
Kristi Ann Fredericks, 43, of Downington, will spend the next 11 to 35 years behind bars after being convicted in May of two counts of unauthorized practice of law. She operated several offices in Chester County, inlcuding Malvern.
Fredericks was sentenced on Aug. 2 by Judge William P. Mahon.

Outgoing Chester County District Attorney Thomas Hogan praised the prosecutor in the case, Ron Yen, for his work in getting a conviction, calling him "relentless."
"Chester County is lucky to have prosecutors this dedicated," he said.

Fredericks wrote large checks to herself from four former clients without their permission, according to a report in the Daily Local News. The stolen sum amounted to around $97,000.
In addition to the Malvern office,Fredericks operated offices in King of Prussia, Downingtown, and Coatesville.
She has since been disbarred.
