Malvern, East Whiteland Among Local Fire Companies Seeking Grant
A group of Chester County fire companies are seeking a $220,000 grant that will help provide for vital equipment.

MALVERN, PA -- Malvern and East Whiteland are among the local fire companies seeking an Assistance to Firefighters Grants to purchase much needed new equipment.
The Berwyn Fire Company announced they were also applying for the grant, along with West Whiteland, Lionville, and Paoli.
The grant will provide $220,000 in funds for 97,000 portable radios, officials said.

The grant was originally applied for in 2015, but local companies joint grant was rejected.
“Due to some changes in how points are awarded during the grant review process, we are optimistic we will be successful this year,” Berwyn Fire Company said.

Fire officials said John Sly Grant Writing Services assisted in completing the grant application.
