Malvern Fire Co Addresses Pig Roast Controversy
The fire company sent a message to the community Tuesday night addressing the controversy over their canceled pig roast fundraiser.

MALVERN, PA – The Malvern Fire Company addressed the controversy over their decision to cancel the annual pig roast fundraiser in a social media post Tuesday night.
The pig roast was canceled reportedly over complaints and threats of protest, but the fire company said other factors were considered in canceling the event.
"While it was not an easy decision, this particular fundraising event has been canceled due to several factors including the lack of ticket sales and in consideration of the many hours our volunteers would need to donate to organize and host this particular event," the fire company said on Facebook Tuesday. "The company is discussing other ways to apply their support to the upcoming fundraising efforts scheduled for this year."
