Malvern, Paoli, Wayne Area Police Incidents in August.

TREDYFFRIN, PA — The following information was provided by the Tredyffrin Township Police Department.

SCAMS

There have been numerous phone scams targeting senior citizens recently. Callers stating they are from the IRS or claiming to be a relative in need of bail money or legal fees. HANG UP – These are scams. Government or Law Enforcement agencies will never request payment via money orders, MONEYGRAM, GREEN DOT or POP MONEY.

FALSE REPORTS

7/27/16 at 0004 hours – East Central Avenue in Paoli. During a traffic stop, the operator of the vehicle failed to give the correct information to the officer. Subsequently, Hugo Mestanza, 36, of Paoli, PA was charged with supplying False Identification to Law Enforcement.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS

7/30/16 at 0404 hours – Paoli Shopping Center. Diana Ordonez-Gutierrez, 21, of Malvern, PA was charged with Public Drunkenness after officers observed her to be visibly intoxicated.

POSSESSION

8/4/16 at 0120 hours – Route 202. While conducting a traffic stop, police charged Tara Preston, 26, of Downingtown, PA with Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana and Paraphernalia.
