Malvern Police Warn of 'Warrant Scam' Striking Area
An individual pretends to be a Malvern police officer and tells victims they have a warrant out for their arrest.

MALVERN, PA -- A police warrant scam is striking the Malvern area, the borough said in an announcement released on Tuesday night.
Police Chief Marcelli said that the scam involves an individual calling victims on the phone and pretending to be a cop.
"A phone call was made by a male subject identifying himself as Officer John Miller, Badge #1736, of the Malvern Police Department stating he had a warrant out for this person's arrest," Marcelli said. "This person was instructed to call a (202)-Area Code number to resolve the warrant."

Police urge that all residents confirm an officer's identity if they ever receive a call from police, and to never give out personal information to strangers.
