Truck Strikes Train Bridge In Malvern Tuesday, Gets Stuck

Amtrak officials said the bridge did not sustain any damage and that service was not interrupted.

MALVERN, PA – A truck struck the Amtrak/SEPTA train track overpass Tuesday morning in Malvern, according to Malvern Police and Amtrak officials.

Police said the truck struck the bridge – which has an 8-foot, 6-inch clearance – at about 11 a.m. as it was driving on North Warren Avenue.

No one was injured and police said the struck was cleared from the scene quickly after getting stuck.

Amtrak officials said the bridge did not sustain any damage in the strike.

Neither Amtrak nor SEPTA services were interrupted by the incident, officials said.

Police said since the I-beams were installed on both sides of the bridge, incidents such as this have been much less severe.
