What better way to share your love and kindness this Lenten season than to gather for a meal, take home a unique, ceramic bowl, handcrafted by our middle school students, and help feed the hungry right here in Chester County?
Tomorrow, March 27, 2015, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., guests will enjoy a meal of soup and artisan breads and take home an “empty bowl” - handcrafted by VMA students - to remind us of those who experience hunger on a daily basis (that’s 1 out of 8 people in Chester County!)
All are invited to this special, first-time event at Villa - Empty Bowls Soup Supper, benefiting the Chester County Food Bank and featuring the artistic and organizational talents of Middle School students. This event is a service project organized by middle school students in St. Bridget, St. Elizabeth and St. Maria Goretti houses, but is open to ALL Villa families and friends.

Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger and was created by The Imagine Render Group. The basic premise is simple: Potters and other craftspeople, educators and others work with the community to create handcrafted bowls. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a donation, guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The money raised is donated to a local organization working to end hunger and food insecurity. Villa will be donating the proceeds to The Chester County Food Bank.
