100-Year Anniversary Of Broomall Fire Co Begins Sunday
Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023 will mark the 100-year anniversary of the first meeting of the Broomall Fire Copmany.

BROOMALL, PA — This weekend, the Broomall Fire Company is beginning a year of celebrating its century of service to the community.
The year-long celebration begins at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday at the Broomall Fire House.
Sunday's date coincides with the first official meeting convened in the fire company's history on Jan. 8, 1923.

All available fire company members will assemble at the Broomall Firehouse, 1 North
Malin Road at West Chester Pike, at 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
Then at about 9 a.m., fire trucks and members will proceed to Saint Pius Catholic
Church, 220 Lawrence Road.

At 9:30 a.m. fire company members will process into the church in full uniforms followed by the Broomall Fire Company Honor Guard led by Captain Richard Schmidt.
A special service with the Broomall Fire Company as guests of honor will then be officiated by Monsignor William C. Kaufman, Pastor at St. Pius X.
After the service, from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., members of the Broomall Fire Company will proceed to Paxon Hollow Country Club, 850 Paxon Hollow Road in Media.
The 100th Anniversary Broomall Fire Company meeting will then begin at 11 a.m.
In addition to company business, important historical events in Broomall Fire Company history will be revisited.
Upon the adjournment of the meeting, members of the fire company will participate in a celebratory brunch as the year-long anniversary celebration gets underway.
