$8,000 in Jewelry Stolen from Home, Police Say

Also, items were taken from inside two vehicles parked outside a residence, in a separate incident, police say.

The following information was supplied by Newtown Township Police. Any arrests or charges mentioned do not indicate guilt or conviction.

Theft—Unit block of Harrison Drive at about 10:31 a.m. on  Feb. 23. Several items from the victim's jewelry collection had been stolen, according to police. The victim discovered the items were missing on Feb. 20 and waited to report to police because she wanted to check her entire house for the jewelry before filing a report, according to police. The woman told police she recalled wearing the jewelry on Feb. 2 but suspected the jewelry was stolen while she and her husband were out of town between Feb. 12 and 19. The stolen items included a gold charm bracelet valued at $7,000, a silver bracelet valued at $200, a silver bracelet with diamonds valued at $400, a bracelet valued at $400 and earrings valued at $200, according to police.

Theft from Vehicles—600 block Andover Road at about 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 21. A resident reported that sometime overnight items were stolen from inside the victim's Nissan and Mercedes vehicles, according to police. The Nissan was parked in the attached garage, with the garage door open and the doors unlocked, according to police. The center console of the Nissan had all of its contents removed and strewn around the vehicle and the victim's wallet with about $50 cash, a St. Christophers’s medal, a cross, and a medal of the Blessed Mother were stolen from inside, according to police. The Mercedes was parked in the driveway in front of the residence but while police were at the residence the Mercedes was not at the home, according to police. The victim's husband who had driven the Mercedes to work reported that it had appeared someone rummaged through center console and a black briefcase containing a laptop computer, valued at $600, was missing along with an unknown amount of cash, according to police.
