Media, PA: The Birthplace at Riddle Hospital has been receiving “Bertha’s Baby Bundles” for three years from the Philoptochos Society of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, whose mission is to help the sick and needy. Recently Presvytera Nicoletta, wife of Pastor Anastasios, invited 40 women from the church to their annual dinner, asking each person to bring a newborn baby item for the bundles. This past week those bundles were delivered to the unit, packed with knitted booties and hats, bibs, shoes and socks, PJ’s, Onezies, layette outfits, washcloths and towels, plus 2 handmade blankets. “Our ladies are very happy to be able to help the babies born at Riddle. We love Riddle and especially the Birthplace”, said Bertha Tourlitis, creator of the outreach. The items in the bundles are given to families-in-need by the nurses when they go home.
