Bank Robbery Suspect Captured, Charged: Newtown Township Police
Newtown Township Police said they worked with the FBI to find and charge a Newtown Square man accused of robbing a PNC bank recently.

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA β Police in Newtown Township and the FBI have captured and charged a local man in connection with a bank robbery this week.
Police said Daniel Johnson, 38, of Newtown Square, has been charged with robbery, terroristic threats, and theft by unlawful taking.
Johnson is accused of robbing the PNC bank at 3600 block of West Chester Pike in Newtown Square Tuesday.

Authorities allege Johnson came into the bank Tuesday afternoon and threatened a teller with a gun.
He made off with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Authorities eventually got a tip regarding the suspect's identity.
Police and the FBI executed a search warrant at a residence at the Carthage House Apartments on Bishop Hollow Road Thursday as part of the investigation into the robbery.
There, they found a replica handgun, a large amount of cash, and clothes matching those worn by the suspect, police said.
Johnson was held after failing to post 10 percent of $300,000 bail, according to court documents.
He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on March 8, court records show.
