The Chester - Ridley - Crum Watersheds Association (CRC) held a multisite watershed/creek/stream/brook etc. cleanup on May 3. At the 'Trout Run' stream location (one of the many sites) cleanup next to the Marple Planet Fitness & Giant supermarket, an estimated 700- 800 lbs of refuse was collected for proper disposal by volunteers. For those that do not know it, 'Trout Run' is the same stream that ends up running thru Marple's Kent Park.
People, please try to be cognizant of trying your best not to "litter" in/at the parking lot at the above mentioned location, and of course everywhere else too. The debris, even just cigarette butts, often ends up in these watershed creeks, due to things like storm drains, wind, etc. and if anyone sees dumping at the shopping center, especially at the East side (Planet Fitness side) with is considered a wooded protected wetland, please call 911 immediately.
