DCIU's Flourishing Practical Nursing Program Opens Registration
DCIU's Practical Nursing Program Hopes to Meet Intense Countywide Demand for LPNs: Ten Spots Still Open for Fall Enrollment

Broomall— An aging county-wide population and a growing need for healthcare services will be the catalyst for a busy fall at DCIU. The practical nursing program is approaching August with just ten spots still available, and are prepared to set students up for success in their careers.
The program offers students hands-on learning opportunities, and nursing clinical rotations in pediatrics, nursing homes, medical-surgical, and mental health settings across Delaware County. With a 100% job placement rate post-graduation, many students are hired in their desired setting within weeks of graduation.
The application, along with photos and video testimonials from students, can be found on the newly-designed website, dciu.org/lpn. There, prospective students are encouraged to view the application process, and watch the recording of the most recent virtual open house.

In a 2020 study by Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce, the Practical Nursing Program was identified as a top Pennsylvania higher education program for your money based on a ten-year net value. The one-year program gives students the jumpstart in their career as LPN, and prepares them to sit for the NCLEX Nurse Licensing Exam.
Students of any background are welcome to start their career at DCIU, whether they recently graduated from high school, are re-entering the workforce, or seeking career advancement. For Brittany Hodges, she decided to move on from her career as a massage therapist, and enroll in the Practical Nursing Program.
“A career as an LPN can take me anywhere. There are nursing jobs available everywhere, and I am excited to explore my options.”
