Decomposed Body In Delco IDed: Police

The cause and time of death have yet to be determined, police said.

A decomposed body was found in a Delaware County home Tuesday and details are still shrouded in mystery. However police have released the identity of the decedent.

Newtown Township Police identified the decedent as 54-year-old Robert Steward.

Steward's body was found at a home on the 200 block of Overbrook Drive after police responded to a welfare check call from a pastor, police said.

Steward lived in the home with his brother, who was taken in for a mental health evaluation when police found the body, authorities said.

Newtown Police said the cause and time of death have yet to be determined by the medical examiner, but said the death is not considered suspicious following a preliminary investigation.

Police said they have had several contacts with Steward's brother for mental health issues.
