Delco Seeks Input On Animal Care & Control Program

The county needs someone to the design and retrofit of the existing building and operate the County's Animal Care & Control Program.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Delaware County is looking to hear from the public on its Animal Care & Control Program.

In fall 2018, the Delaware County Council formed a sub-committee to address the challenges of stray animals in the county. The committee discussed utilizing a County-owned building to house an animal intake and adoption facility. Committee members include Council Chairman John McBlain, Councilman Kevin Madden, experts in animal control and rescue, and law enforcement.

The county is seeking proposals from qualified respondents to assist in the design and retrofit of the existing County-owned building and operate the County’s Animal Care & Control Program. Before the proposal is released, Delaware County is seeking the input of residents in order to ascertain the public’s perspective.
