On Thursday July17, the Gen. Butler Detachment's Americanism Team gave two Flag History presentations at the Rocky Run YMCA in Media to two groups of Y campers. The three team members are Marines Earle Drake and Jim Mulhern, and Navy veteran and Detachment ceremonial bugler Lloyd Spangler. One presentation was given to campers aged 9 to 11 at 11:00 am followed by a second presentation to campers aged 7 to 9 at 1:00 pm.
Currently the Detachment has a flag display in the Springfield Township Library and this past May the Heritage Commission of Delaware County presented the Gen. Butler Detachment the prestigious Presentation Award for Special Projects due to the work of the Americanism Team.
