Give Blood In Delco To Support Hurricane Florence Survivors

You may be wondering how to help those impacted by Hurricane Florence in the south. One way is giving blood at Red Cross blood drives.

After Hurricane Florence devastated much of North Carolina and surrounding areas, you may be wondering how you can help.

One way is giving blood to the Red Cross, and there are some drives being held in Delaware County soon where you can potentially help save a life with a blood donations.

The blood drives are:

  • Sept. 20 – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Harrah's Philadelphia, 777 Harrahs Boulevard, Chester
  • Sept. 21 – 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Taylor Hospital, 175 E. Chester Pike, Ridley Park
  • Sept. 24 – 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Crozer Chester Medical Center, 1 Medical Center Boulevard, Chester
  • Sept. 24 – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thornbury Township Building, 6 Township Drive, Cheyney
  • Sept. 27 – 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., St. Joseph's Church, 500 Woodlawn Ave., Collingdale
  • Sept. 27 – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Penn State University, Tomezsko Lounge, 25 Yearsley Mill Road, Media
  • Sept. 27 – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Inn at Swarthmore, 10 S. Chester Road, Swarthmore
  • Sept. 28 – 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Rocky Run YMCA, 1299 West Baltimore Pike, Media

All blood types are needed to ensure that the right blood product is available at the right time for all patients.

Make an appointment to donate blood by downloading the free American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting the Red Cross website here, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

Those who come to donate blood or platelets through Sept. 30 will receive a coupon via email for a free haircut at participating Sport Clips locations. More information is available at online here.
