History:

Once owned by Senator John Ware, the Ware Mansion was built in 1887-1888. Prior to World War I, the house was converted into a sanitarium, and then served as a hospital during the Flu Epidemic. In the early 1930s, the house was moved by locomotive to its current location at the heart of Ware Presbyterian Village and later donated by Senator John H. Ware to Presbyterian Homes of Central Pennsylvania.
