Marple-Newtown Meals on Wheels Seeks Volunteers

Persons age 60 or above may qualify for the free Home-Delivered Meal Program available through the Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging.

The following was provided to Patch:

For four decades, the all-volunteer staff of Marple-Newtown Meals on Wheels has been providing low-cost, nutritious meals to seniors and handicapped/homebound of any age who are unable to venture out and/or have limited ability to cook or shop.  The caring volunteers, in addition to bringing nourishment, also provide friendship and a kind word to those most in need.

The service is available on a short-or long-term basis at a nominal price and includes both a hot lunch and a cold meal.  For additional information—either for yourself or a loved-one—contact Ginny at 610-359-8990.

At this time, we have a critical need for Volunteer Packers (9:30 am to 10:30) willing to work on Mondays or Fridays.  Volunteer drivers are also needed from time to time (10:30 to Noon).  All Volunteers make a commitment of one or two weekdays a month.  If you are interested in serving, please call Shirley at 610-356-2520.
