Phone, Cologne, Kindle, Cash Stolen from Vehicles

Several of the vehicles were unlocked, police say.

Money, gift card, Kindle, cologne and a cell phone were stolen from vehicles recently, according to Newtown Township Police. 

On Dec. 8, two vehicles were broken into on Tyson Road, according to police.

A resident noticed his GMC cargo door light was on and the door was slightly open but he closed the door and continued on his way, according to police, as the man was driving he noticed there was change on the floor and his police radar detector was missing, along with his children’s Amazon Kindle and DS handheld gaming system.

A GPS was sitting on the dashboard and was not taken, according to police.

The resident told police parked his GMC near his mailbox at about 7 p.m. the night prior and the doors were unlocked, according to police. 

A Wawa gift card and about $5 in cash were stolen from inside a second vehicle also parked on Tyson Road on Dec. 8, according to police, however a cell phone that was in plain view was not taken.

This resident parked his vehicle around 11:15 p.m. the night prior and did not remember if the car doors were locked but there were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle, according to police. 

On Dec. 2, a victim reported to police that her iPhone 5 and charger were stolen from her vehicle, which was unlocked, according to police. The phone was valued at about $300.

On Nov. 30, a woman told police a bottle of cologne and about $20 were stolen from her vehicle on Gartley Drive, according to police. 

She told police her car was parked in the driveway and was positive she had locked the doors at about 10 a.m., according to police. 

She went for a walk around 3:20 p.m. and did not notice anything in the front seat of the vehicle but when she returned she noticed a gift bag that had been in the back seat was now in the front seat and had obviously been rummaged through, according to police.

The doors were locked but there were no signs of forced entry, according to police.

Other items inside the vehicle, a laptop, iPad, CDs and other wrapped gifts and cash were in the back seat and not disturbed, according to police.
