Stolen Vehicle In Marple Had Toddler Inside: Report

Marple Police said a 1-year-old girl was inside a SUV that was stolen Saturday evening from the Sproul Plaza in Marple Township. The girl was returned to her family quickly and the suspect is still on the loose, police said.

According to the Delaware County Daily Times, the vehicle was stolen at about 5:10 p.m. as it was left running with the child strapped into her child seat.

The SUV was located a few minutes after being taken and the child was unharmed and still in her car seat.

Police told the outlet the suspect was not located even after several other departments assisted in the search.

The Times reports police are looking into four men in their late teens or early 20s who were seen carrying shovels in the area after shoveling driveways.
