Teen Delco Firefighter Charged with Arson

A 19-year-old volunteer firefighter has been accused of starting three fires in Delaware County.

Police say a teen volunteer firefighter helped a 17-year-old set fires in three homes, then arrived with his fire company to extinguish the flames, according to NBC10 News.

John Corcoran, of Glenolden, Pa., has been charged with arson and corrupting a minor, 6ABC News reports. The 17-year-old has also been charged with arson as a minor.

According to reports, between May and July Corcoran allegedly helped start fires at three homes in Folcroft, Pa. and Darby, Pa., then returned to the scene with the Goodwill Fire Department.

Corcoran’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 20.
