Shaler’s coach calls Meadville a well-coached, state runner-up program, setting up a high-stakes matchup local fans will be watching closely. 
• Crawford County mobile home residents sign leases 'under duress' (alliednews.com) — Residents of Meadville’s Asbury Manor East and West and nearby Fountain House Park are withholding a $75 monthly rent increase, saying conditions remain unsafe and poorly maintained despite past city citations and a legal settlement. Organized with Crawford County United, the tenants signed new leases “under duress,” launched a rent strike, and hope Regal Communities will negotiate on repairs, penalties, and future rent hikes.
• Wendell R. Stiver (leesburg-news.com) — Meadville is noted as the birthplace of Wendell Stiver, a 78-year-old remembered for his hard work, love of family, and larger-than-life personality. Though he later settled in Mount Dora, Florida, his roots in Meadville connect his life story back to this community as his family prepares a future memorial service.
