Mechanicsburg to host East Coast's largest, longest-running street fair (cpbj.com) ā Downtown Mechanicsburg will be packed this Thursday for the 96th Annual Jubilee Day, billed as the East Coastās largest, longest-running one-day street fair. About 300 vendors, live music on two stages, a petting zoo, and free shuttle buses from Mechanicsburg High School and Immanuel Church will help welcome an expected 70,000 visitors to support local businesses and community groups.

2. āDifficult decision': 21 closings in Pa. include restaurants, warehouses, and more (pennlive.com) ā A statewide roundup of business closures includes Quality Packaging Specialists International shutting its Mechanicsburg facility on Independence Avenue, with 83 local jobs to be cut in early July. The company cites declining business volume for the Mechanicsburg closure, while other listed shutdowns span banks, warehouses, restaurants, and manufacturers across Pennsylvania.

3. Waggoner Named Assistant Coach for Navy Men's Basketball (navysports.com) ā A Mechanicsburg native is moving up the college basketball ranks as Austin āBoā Waggoner, a Cumberland Valley High School graduate, has been named an assistant coach for Navy menās basketball. After stints with Penn State, Wilkes, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Notre Dame, heāll now help develop Midshipmen on and off the court.

Josh Hokit's controversial Michelle Obama joke at UFC Freedom 250 didn't impress Shane Gillis (bloodyelbow.com) ā A Mechanicsburg native is back in national headlines after comedian Shane Gillis criticized UFC fighter Josh Hokitās controversial post-fight joke about Michelle Obama. Gillis, known for his edgy humor, joined UFC president Dana White in distancing himself from Hokit's remarks, which went viral following the heavyweightās knockout win.
