Missing Delco Woman Found Dead In Submerged Vehicle

CHESTER, PA — A Chester City woman who went missing last month was found dead Sunday in the Delaware River.

Kortney Staples, 33, was found dead after search-and-recovery divers located her submerged vehicle, according to Chaos Divers. Her remains have been recovered.

Formal identification is pending.

Staples was last seen by family on July 11, according to Chester Police. For the past few weeks, family and community members asked the public to be on the lookout for Staples and her Nissan Altima.

The Delaware County Examiner's Office will work to identify the deceased person and determine the cause of death, according to FOX 29. Foul play is not suspected.
