Auditions Set for 'Death On The 16th Fairway' at Media Theatre
Auditions are April 7 at 6pm

Media resident Art Leahy’s new play “Death On The 16th Fairway” is getting ready for its first fully-staged premiere at The Media Theatre this June. Auditions will be held for the show on Sunday April 7 at 6pm. Artistic Director Jesse Cline, who will direct the play, will be in attendance.
This is a non-union performers call. The 14 character play is being produced in celebration of the 2013 US Open Golf Tournament being held at Lower Merion Golf Club this summer and will be used as a fundraiser for several local charities.
“Death on the 16th Fairway” is a new play by avid golfer and investment adviser Art Leahy. The story of Ryan’s Way Country Club, an exclusive golf, dining, and fitness facility is a fictional story based on Leahy’s behind-the-scenes experience as a golf club member and financial professional. The murder mystery is great for both golfers and mystery lovers.

In the show, a body is discovered at Fader’s Bog on the course’s signature hole, Hole 16. The story takes off from that point, with interesting—and, at times, humorous—characters as everyone tries to figure out what has happened during the Ryan’s Way Country Club 50th Anniversary Celebration.
The Media Theatre production will utilize its technical and design staff to create the world premiere stage production. Specific evenings will be fundraisers for charitable organizations and the production takes place during the US Open in Ardmore. The borough of Media will recognize June as Golf Month as playwright Leahy is a resident of Media.
