Iraq War Veteran Raises U.S. Army Flag
County Council authorized flying the flags of the five military branches for one week in connection with their anniversary dates on flagpoles in front of the Courthouse, Media, and in the courtyard.

Andrew Colket, a U. S. Army Air Cavalry veteran who served in combat roles in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, from 2005-06 joined County Council Vice Chairman Mario J. Civera Jr. (left) and (from right) Council Chairman Thomas J. McGarrigle, Councilmen John P. McBlain, Councilman David J. White and Councilwoman Colleen P. Morrone in the courtyard of the Delaware County Government Center and Courthouse complex to raise the U. S. Army Flag to commemorate the anniversary of the nation’s first military branch which was established on June 14, 1775. Colket serves as District Representative for U. S. Rep. Patrick Meehan for Military and Veterans Affairs.
County Council authorized flying the flags of the five military branches for one week in connection with their anniversary dates on flagpoles in front of the Courthouse, Media, and in the courtyard. Similar flags will be raised at appropriate times later this year in observance of the Coast Guard, established on Aug. 4, 1791; the Air Force, on Sep. 18, 1947; the Navy, on Oct. 13, 1775; and the Marine Corps, on Nov. 10, 1775.
