Security Above Par at U.S. Open
Security will be above par the week of the U.S. Open.

In preparation for the 113th United States Open Championship being held June 10-16 at the historic Merion Golf Club in Haverford Township, Delaware County Council toured the facility with members of the Haverford Police Department to learn about security measures in place for the international event.
Shown at Merion are, from left, Haverford Township Police Lieutenant Joseph Hagan, County Councilwoman Colleen Morrone, Chairman Tom McGarrigle, Council members Dave White and John McBlain and Haverford Deputy Police Chief John Viola.
The U.S. Open is expected to draw 190,000 spectators, volunteers and staff to Merion and the surrounding communities, and the economic impact for the five-county region is expected to top $100 million.
