Telework Week 2013: Join the Pledge
Would you like to work from home? Join the pledge to support Telework Week 2013 and you will have your chance.

Would you and/or your employees benefit from working out of the office? If the answer is “yes,” you can make a pledge to support Telework Week 2013 during the week of March 4 through 8.
The third annual global effort encourages government agencies and private businesses to allow employees who normally commute, to work from home instead.

The impact and savings are significant, according to Telework Exchange, which sponsors the effort. Last year, more than 71,000 people pledged. That saved more than $5.6 million on commuting costs, gained nearly 252,000 hours back into employees’ days, removed three and a half tons of pollutants from the air, and prevented 6.4 million miles of driving.
Delaware County Transportation Management Association (DCTMA) would like to encourage all Delaware County agencies and businesses in the county to band together and join the pledge.

DCTMA Executive Director Cecile Charlton says Telework Week 2013 is the perfect opportunity for employees to try working from home, and experience the benefits it provides.
“Studies have found that people who work from home are more productive and are happier employees. This also helps traffic congestion by removing commuters from the road at the most congested times,” says Charlton.
