The Delaware County Parks &amp; Recreation Department is proud to present <a href="https://www.armyfieldband.com/cb-summer-2026/8-13-2026" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">The United States Army Field Band &amp; Soldiers' Chorus</a>, our Nation's premier touring ensemble, at the Rose Tree Summer Festival on Thursday, August 13, at 7:30 PM. These Musical Ambassadors of the Army will present a program entitled America the Beautiful, showcasing a spectacular selection of American music, including patriotic numbers, traditional dance songs, Broadway arrangements, and more. <a href="https://www.america250padelco.org/events" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Delaware County's America250</a> pop-up experience tent will be onsite with flags for the audience; COL(Retired) Arthur L Jenkins Jr., Delaware County's Director of Military and Veterans Affairs, will give welcoming remarks, and Media VFW Post 3460 will provide a color guard. The outdoor amphitheater is located in Rose Tree Park, and the concert is free and open to the public, weather permitting. Media Fellowship House Inc

Join us on Sunday, August 16 from 4-6 PM for a potluck meal with a twist. Meet your neighbors and help weave some community connections. 

Here's how it will work: We'll gather between 4 and 6PM, no official start or end. Come when you can and stay as long as you'd like! 
Please bring a dish to share made from locally produced food. This could be something from your personal garden, your local farmers market or CSA, or something you've recently foraged. 
We also ask you to think about something you need or could use help with (Request) and/or something you can offer to help with (Offer). Requests and Offers can be simple things like offering to provide a ride to a doctor appointment, sharing a conversation for an hour, or playing a game. They could also be skills that you have and are willing to share, such as how to do some kind of artwork, gardening help, pet care or handy work around the house. It's really anything you can imagine! At the end of the night, we will match the Requests to the Offers so that everyone can get the help they need. *Note: If you can't think of an offer and a request, come anyway! Maybe you'll be inspired.
Besides sharing a delicious meal, our goal is to have you leave with at least one simple connection to help someone or have someone help you. Most importantly, we want you to have fun, meet some neighbors and connect.
That's it! 

The TTGM Resilience Working Group will have hosts circulating to help you find the right connection piece. We'll also have a table with useful information on preparing for emergencies, learning more about resilience and edible foods that grow in our area (foraging).

We promote small actions that help move our neighborhood forward in service of a more interconnected and prepared community for changing times. Sale items include hardback, paperback and coffee table books, audiobooks, magazines, DVDs, CDs, vinyl records, puzzles, games, sheet music, and vintage &amp; ephemera items.
This is a well-organized sale with all items sorted into categories. The books are stored on shelves (not in boxes) in our 4,000 square-foot shopping area and are categorized into fiction, non-fiction, sci-fi/horror, teen literature, and children’s. Fiction is alphabetized by author. Non-fiction is categorized by subject. 
Sale prices are:

I teach electric and acoustic guitar lessons in person close to Springfield and Swarthmore. I have been teaching guitar for over 30 years and have experience teaching all ages of students. I also perform with my classic rock band The Garage Bandits most weekends and can help students get comfortable playing in front of other people. This class will run for 6 sessions over the course of 7 weeks on Mondays from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. The focus of this class will be on teaching song melodies to beginners, such as Ode To Joy by Beethoven and Happy Birthday. Each week I will introduce slightly more complicated melodies that will help develop students' ability to play single note melodies on the guitar.
