Cocaine, Gun, Cash Seized In Delco Drug Bust: Authorities

Eric McFall, of Yeadon, is behind bars after authorities say they found drugs, a gun, ammo, and drug trafficking paraphernalia in his home.

Delaware County authorities seized cocaine, tens of thousands of dollars, a gun, two loaded magazines, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia as the result of an undercover investigation into drug trafficking in the county, the District Attorney's Office said.

District Attorney Katayoun M. Copeland said Eric McFall, 41, of Yeadon Borough, was arrested and charged with drug and gun crimes related to the bust.

McFall has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, drug trafficking paraphernalia possession, and related crimes, court records show.

The undercover investigation led to the seizure of approximately $54,000 in cash, along with a firearm, two loaded gun magazines, ammunition, a quarter of an ounce of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia consistent with the sale of narcotics, according to the DA's office.

The arrest is the result of an investigation by the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Drug Task Force members Detective Sean P. Brydges, Detective Jerry Scanlan, and Lieutenant John Hamill of the Ridley Township Police Department, with assistance from the Yeadon Borough Police Department.

McFall was remanded to the George W. Hill Correctional Facility after failing to post $250,000/10% bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 6, 2018.

On Aug. 24, Ridley Township Detectives Sean Brydges and Jerry Scanlan and Lieutenant John Hamill, along with other members of the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office CID Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at McFall’s home on the 700 block of Cypress Street in Yeadon, the DA's office said.

Authorities found McFall during the execution and he admitted to having cocaine, a large amount of money, new and unused packaging material, and a black digital scale in his residence, according to the DA's office.

McFall showed officers the areas of his home, including a dirty clothes basket, a Timberland boot, and a winter hat, where he hid the illicit items, authorities said.

During the search of the home, detectives seized a total of approximately $54,000 cash, a 9mm hand gun and two loaded magazines along with 9mm ammunition, the DA's office said.

On the night stand in the master bedroom, detectives found a red Rolex watch, with an appraisal certificate of $15,000, and two iPhones, according to the DA's office.

A black digital money counter was found along with a digital scale, new and unused packaging material, a clear sandwich baggie containing approximately a quarter ounce (7.4 grams) of cocaine was also located in the residence, the DA's office said.

McFall's criminal history shows that he was previously convicted of a felony offense, mean he is unable to legally possess a firearm, according to the DA's office.

"Our CID Drug Task Force continually works to attack the source of illegal drugs and arrest dealers who profit from the weakness of those struggling with addiction," Copeland said. "Together, with our partners in law enforcement, we will continue to aggressively arrest and prosecute individuals who are perpetuating the drug epidemic that is tearing families apart in our community. In this case, due to the excellent investigative work of Ridley Township Police Detectives Sean Brydges and Jerry Scanlan, and Lieutenant John Hamill of the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office CID Drug Task Force, with assistance from Yeadon Borough Police Department, this repeat felon was taken into custody."

On behalf of the Commonwealth, Deputy District Attorney Sharon McKenna, Chief of Narcotics Unit, is prosecuting the case.
