Delaware County Courthouse, Government Center Closed Thursday

Thursday's weather closed county offices and officials are urging residents to register for the county's emergency alert system.

MEDIA, PA – The Delaware County Courthouse and Government Center are closed Thursday, Jan. 4 due to the harsh winter weather that has descended upon the Philadelphia region.

County officials announced the closure Thursday morning.

Officials urge residents to register for Delco Alert, the county's emergency notification system that alerts residents of emergencies, severe weather, road closures or other emergency events. Residents can register for Delco Alert online here.

Residents with an emergency are asked to call 911.

Anyone who experiences power loss should call PECO at (800)841-4141.

The county website also lists various resources that assist people during a storm including help for the elderly through our Office of Services for the Aging (COSA) and help for homeless and vulnerable citizens through our Department of Human Services.
