Delco Certifies Results Of 2021 Municipal Election Races

However, results of three local and one statewide election are being subject to recounts and litigation, Delaware County officials said.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Results of the 2021 municipal election in Delaware County have officially been certified.

The Delaware County Board of Elections voted unanimously Thursday to certify the results of the Nov. 2 municipal election.

Gerald Lawrence, the Board of Elections Chair, and fellow members Ashley Lunkenheimer and John McBlain received the updated Director of Elections report from Jim Allen, discussed matters pertaining to the processing of write-in votes, and reviewed the findings of the bipartisan 18-member Return Board (responsible for the state-mandated 2 percent audit of each election) before voting for certification.

While nearly all race results in the county are certified, a few exceptions remain.

The commissioner race in Upper Chichester (Ward 4), the mayoral race in Eddystone (both North and South wards), the Judge of Elections race in Darby Borough (Ward/Precinct 3-1), and the ongoing Statewide recount for the office of Judge of the Commonwealth Court are subject to either recounts or litigation, officials said.
