Delco Council Approves 2.8 Percent Tax Hike

Delaware County Council approves the 2014 budget.

Delaware County residents will see a 2.8 percent tax hike followingΒ Delaware County Council's unanimous approval ofΒ the 2014 budget on Wednesday, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.Β 

The $336 million budgetΒ calls for a millage rate of 5.604 mills, which is an increase of 0.152 mills. A taxpayer with an averageΒ assessed home ofΒ $134,200 would generate a county property tax of $752.05, which is aΒ $20.40 increase, according to the Delco Times.Β
