Delco District Attorney Warns Seniors Of Latest Scams

District Attorney Katayoun Copeland stopped in Chester last week to keep seniors abreast of the latest scams to help them stay safe.

CHESTER, PA – Delaware County District Attorney Katayoun Copeland and the Criminal Investigation Division’s Senior Exploitation Unit paid a visit to Chester recently to keep seniors abreast of the latest scams to help them avoid becoming victims.

Copeland and Senior Exploitation Unit officials gave a seminar on fraud prevention and identity theft for senior citizens as part of the Chester Senior Center’s Community Awareness Day in Chester on March 16.

Seniors are reminded to never fall for anything that sounds too good to be true, give your credit card, phone card, Social Security, or bank account numbers to anyone over the phone to a caller, let anyone rush you into signing anything, provide your personal information to anyone,deal with any contractor unless you first check them out with the Better Business Bureau, the county office of Consumer Affairs or your local police department.
