Delco Holding Safe Schools Summit Amid 'Rising Concerns': DA

Delaware County's Safe Schools Summit will address violence in schools and the rise in concern for student safety, the DA's office said.

MEDIA, PA — An upcoming event in Delaware County will address violence in schools and rising concerns about student and teacher safety.

The Delaware County Safe Schools Summit, organized by District Attorney Katayoun Copeland, will be held at the Drexelbrook Catering and Corporate Events Center on Oct. 23.

"Focused on a variety of school safety topics including conflict management, personal self-defense, and securing and defending the classroom, participants will hear from experts in law enforcement and public safety at various informative and dynamic sessions," the DA's Office said of the event.

Copeland will be joined by U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, William M. McSwain, who will give the keynote address.

The event, which includes a series of "breakout sessions," will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
