Delco Recognizes 2 Martin Luther King Jr-Honoring Events
The events, Hoops from the Heart and the Unity Breakfast, earned county recognition for their efforts in honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

MEDIA, PA – Two events in Delaware County that honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. earned accolades from county leaders recently.
The Delaware County Council recognized Hoops from the Heart to benefit the Community Action Agency and the Unity Breakfast hosted by the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County at the Jan. 10 council meeting.
Hoops from the Heart, coordinated by Haverford College coach Bobbi Morgan, is a basketball clinic for kids in first through eighth grades from which proceeds benefit needy families in Delaware County. The clinic will be held from 9 a.m to noon on Monday, Jan. 15 at the Haverford Township Recreation Department, 9000 Parkview Drive.

Registration costs $30 per child and is available online here.
The Unity Breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Corporate Events Center at Drexelbrook,

located at Drexelbrook Drive and Valley Road in Drexel Hill.
There will be a buffet breakfast, music, an award-winning student essay, and keynote address by Upper Darby Police Chief Chief Regina Price.
The council was joined by Michael Ranck, president/CEO of the Community YMCA, Vincent Gordon, Community Y Foundation board member, Chief Price, and Trish McFarland, president of the Delaware County Chamber at the meeting.
Entrt to the breakfast costs $10 per child and $20 per adult.
