Delco Wendy's Charged Philly Soda Tax, Photo Shows
Wendy's said charging the tax was a computer error that has since been remedied.
A Wendy's restaurant in Delaware County reportedly charged a customer the Philadelphia sugary beverage tax, according to the customer himself.
Robert Marchetti shared a photo on his Facebook page Aug. 7 of a receipt from a Ridley Park Wendy's location that charged him the city's tax.
Marchetti's order should have cost $9.87 the photo shows, but ended up being $10.32, as 45 cents were tacked on due to his medium soda being hit with the 1.5-cent-per-ounce tax.

A Wendy's representative told NBC10 that the tax being added was the result of a "programming error" that has since been fixed.
That error reportedly listed that location as in Philadelphia, which then added the tax to bills including sugary drinks.

NBC10 reports it's unknown how many customers were charged the tax, but that Wendy's is pledging to donate the taxes it collected to the Boy and Girls Club.
