Dog Dies After Being Found Neglected In Delaware County
Sly was found emaciated and struggling to breathe in a Chester park April 24. Sadly, he passed on. according to Providence Animal Center.

MEDIA, PA – A dog that was found neglected and starving last month in a Delaware County park has died, according to the Providence Animal Center.
The animal center said Sunday night that Sly died after struggling to recover from being neglected.
"With incredible sadness, we must share the news that Sly has crossed the Rainbow Bridge," the center said on Facebook Sunday. "His expert team of caretakers at Penn made every effort to stabilize him, and in the end, his lungs just couldn’t handle it."

Sly, named after Sylvester Stallone, was found in Chester's Deshong Park Tuesday April 24 emaciated and struggling to breath.
Since Sly was found the center posted updates of his progress, including his first time walking on his own, him eating, and being prepped for surgery among other moments.

But tragically Sly was no able to recover from the neglect he faced.
6ABC reports surgeons removed what appeared to be a rope chew toy that was blocking his intestines and that his owners may have abandoned him after learning he needed surgery.
"We’re grateful he received one last kiss this afternoon from his beloved Dr. Croce," the center said. "We’re proud we could do absolutely everything possible to attempt to save him - all because of the support we received from you. We will forever be left with Sly’s oversized footprints on our collective (currently broken) heart. We love you, big boy. It’s been an honor."
Charges may be filed in Sly's case, 6ABC reports.
