Ex Delco School Guard Convicted Of Making Child Porn, Sex Assault

The former Chester High School security guard had sex with a teenage girl and recorded it. The video was later shared on social media.

A former Delaware County high school security guard has been convicted of sexually abusing a teenage girl and filming it to later have the video shared on social media, Delaware County District Attorney Katayoun M. Copeland announced Monday.

Namar Ikeam Plummer, 28, of Marcus Hook, was found guilty of the sexual assault and sexual abuse of a child following a two-day jury trial, Copeland said.

Plummer created child pornography by filming a sex act between himself and a minor victim in July 2017 in Marcus Hook, according to the DA's office. That video was then shared on social media, the DA's office said.

He was found guilty of felony sexual assault and the sexual abuse of a child for creating child pornography, which is also a felony. Plummer's bail was revoked and he was remanded to the George W. Hill Correctional Facility, as he awaits sentencing on Oct. 23, the DA's office said.

He faces a maximum of 30 years in state prison and lifetime Megan’s Law registration.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Danielle Gallaher of the District Attorney’s Special Victims’ Unit, and the investigation was led by Detective Douglas Staffelbach of the Marcus Hook Borough Police Department, with assistance from Delaware County Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Sergeants Robin Clark and Kenneth Bellis and Detective Mark Bucci. For the case, victim assistance and support was provided by Lauren Ciatteo, Counselor Advocate for Delaware County Women Against Rape.

On August 24, 2017, police began investigating a video recording that was on social media showing a sexual act involving an adult male and a minor that took place in Marcus Hook Borough, the DA's office said.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Plummer had non-consensual sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old victim in his home in Marcus Hook, which he recorded by video, the DA's office said. The video was then shared on social media by an unknown individual in August 2017, according to the DA's office.

According to the victim, in July last year she was sexually assaulted by Plummer at his Marcus Hook home, according to the DA's office.

The victim told investigators she knew Plummer as "Mar" from Chester High School where he was a security guard, the DA's office said.

According the victim, Plummer sexually assaulted her and threatened her with a gun if she did not comply. The victim only complied because she feared for her safety and her family’s safety.

"There is no act more horrific and appalling than the sexual abuse of an innocent child by someone in a position of trust," Copeland said. "Mr. Plummer used his position of trust to prey on a child he was supposed to protect, and caused her even further emotional damage by video recording the sexual assault. The victim demonstrated incredible courage by coming forward and providing detailed testimony, ensuring that the defendant will be held accountable for his actions. I would like to commend Assistant District Attorney Danielle Gallaher for bringing this difficult case to justice and victim advocate Lauren Ciatteo of Delaware County Women Against Rape. I would also like to commend Detective Douglas Staffelbach of the Marcus Hook Borough Police Department, and CID Sgt. Robin Clark, Sgt. Kenneth Bellis, and Detective Mark Bucci of the Child Abuse Unit, for their swift and thorough investigation into this case to ensure this dangerous predator is not able to cause any more harm to the victim and the surrounding community."
