Giant to Open at Former Edgmont Genuardi’s
Renovations at the West Chester Pike location are expected to begin this summer.

The former Genuardi’s on West Chester Pike in Edgmont Township will soon become a Giant Food Store.
GIANT Food Stores announced Friday it will open a new store at 4855 West Chester Pike in the Marville Shopping Center later this year. A specific open date has not yet been announced.
Genuardi’s closed its doors in June 2010.

“We are excited to soon serve the vibrant neighborhoods of Edgmont and Newtown Square, offering customers our distinct combination of quality, selection, and savings,” Rick Herring, president, said in a press release.
Renovations on the 43,000-square-foot store are expected to begin this summer and will include updates to the interior, according to the release.

The opening of the store will not affect the nearby Giant located in Westtown, according to Laura Jacobs of e3communications, a public relations firm representing the company.
