MEDIA, PA – Delaware County is getting some of the more than $550 million in highway and bridge improvements as part of the planned 2017 construction season, making 2017's total contracts in Pennsylvania about 125 for roughly $2.2 billion.
Governor Tom Wolf and PennDOT recently announced the projects and bidding, with Delaware County seeing nearly $172.8 million in work to various pieces of infrastructure.
"The funding allocated for these projects not only reduces the backlog of Pennsylvania’s pavement and bridge demands, but significantly improves the growing need for better mobility and safety on our roadways,” Wolf said at a press conference in Norristown Tuesday. "This major investment in our infrastructure that will greatly improve our vast transportation network, enhance local communities and generate more robust economies across the state."
