State Representative Joe Hackett and PathWays PA welcomed Marshalls, one of the nation’s leading off-price family apparel and home fashion retailers, to Glenolden Borough at a grand opening celebration on Thursday, August 8.
The new 26,400 square feet Marshalls store is located at the MacDade Mall, 515 S MacDade Blvd. in Holmes, where the Wolfson Group is renovating and reinventing the 274,500-square-foot facility. Other new businesses will also open soon there, including Ross and Retro Fitness. Acme and K-mart remain as anchor stores and Sonic opened a few months ago in front of the Mall.

The store is known to offer a rapidly changing assortment of fashionable, brand-name merchandise at affordable prices. They say customers can find family apparel, home fashions and other merchandise, such as toys, at prices that are 20%-60% below regular department and specialty store prices.

“The creation of jobs is vital to the health of the economy and the wellbeing of the residents, both in Delaware County and throughout Southeast Pennsylvania,” Hackett said. “I am pleased to announce that the Marshalls Glenolden store is bringing approximately 60 full- and part-time jobs to the area.”
In celebration of its new Glenolden location, Marshalls contributed to the local community by presenting a $5,000 donation to PathWays PA at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 8 at 7:30 a.m. PathWays PA serves as one of Pennsylvania’s first residential programs to keep low-income, vulnerable women together with their children and has grown to become one of the Greater Philadelphia Region’s foremost providers of residential and community-based services for women, children and families. Each year over 4,500 women, children and families benefit from Pathways full complement of social services; job training and employment assistance; as well as outreach and residential programs as they move along the path to self-sufficiency.
“This is a step in the right direction in matching new retail with our existing local businesses and specialty shops,” Hackett said. “I hope that this will mark the beginning of an economic renaissance for the MacDade Mall and the Delaware County area.”
The new Marshalls Glenolden store will be open 9:30a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Mon.-Sat. and 11a.m. to 8p.m. on Sundays.
