Malnourished Dog Found With Shackle in Neck: SPCA

The Delaware County SPCA says a dog underwent surgery after he was found malnourished with a shackle in his neck in Darby.

The Delaware County SPCA is raising money for a dog they say was found malnourished with a shackle in his neck in Darby.

The local SPCA is calling it a “horrific case of animal cruelty.”

According to the SPCA, the dog, named Trooper, recently underwent surgery to remove the shackle and reconstruct his neck.

Trooper is believed to be a mastiff or great dane, about eight or 10 months old.

He is now recovering under the care of Delaware County SPCA’s Director of Shelter Medicine, Dr. Kim Boudwin. She performed his surgery.
